Poppies in Anopolis

Papaver rhoeas is the most common of the poppies that can be found in Greece. It is a weed of waste and cultivated land. It can sometimes be found in a natural habitat such as rocky places. The flowers are a deeper more intense red than those found in northern Europe.
It can be found flowering from March until June.
