Silene succulenta is a fleshy perennial with numerous ascending stems, clothed throughout with a dense mass of sticky, glandular hairs. It is a rare flower found on maritime sands of some Mediterranean islands as well as North Africa.
In Crete it grows on
Elafonisi, Gavdos and Gaiduronisi (Chryssi island). It flowers from March until June.
