Lupinus pilosus is the commonest lupin in Crete. It often grows in or near villages, in olive groves or fallow fields, and is still sometimes cultivated for its seeds which are eaten as traditional snacks.
Lupinus pilosus grows up to an altitude of 750 m and flowers between February and early May.
