Sedum magellense represented in Crete by subspecies olympicum grows at high-altitude on calcareous cliffs, in cold and shady crevices and hollows (it makes it quite difficult to notice). It has a wide general distribution in the mountains of the central and eastern Mediterranean. The plant is up to 15cm tall and the white flowers are about 1cm in diameter. It flowers in June and July and is found above 1500m.
